Xenoblade Chronicles 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7cJ8emNKKI Much like Elden Ring, this feels like a culmination of everything Tetsuya Takahashi has been trying to accomplish since Xenogears. He finally got to tell a complete story and deliver a fully realized world for the first time in his career without his publisher screwing it up for him. Honestly the Kotaku review says all this better than I ever could so I implore you to read it because it's really good https://kotaku.com/xenoblade-chronicles-3-review-switch-jrpg-takahashi-1849652958 All I'm going to add is while I think maybe the music is a bit weaker than past Xeno games, everything else was just such a huge improvement. The combat took the best pieces of Xenoblade 1 and 2 and mashed them together (as is the theme with everything about Xenoblade 3) while also introducing an entire class system that was seamless to get into (as someone who doesn't really like class systems in JRPGs), the world was filled with both new and familiar locales, Rex became a gigachad and got all his sword ladies pregnant and at the end Noah and Mio kissed and I had no choice but to shoot it up to number 1 at that point.
