I caught him staking out a mouse path for hours one night. Yeah. I'm glad my cat takes care of them... My dogs, too... But when my dogs would catch one, I would throw them out front to draw cats around to the house. Which would also help with keeping them out. My backyard frequently has cats roaming around now...
