Capcom should first show some love to some of their own franchises.

I mean they're lightyears ahead of modern Konami lol. But yeah dude, these big companies are not run right nowadays. It's for a lot of reasons which I'll list. This is from my own observation, so don't take my word as gospel but yeah.

  1. The hardware capabilites are beyond the software capabilities at the moment. I mean, they weren't even able to finish Gamecube games, and now you expect them to finish modern games? 3D games in general are just super complilcated, and now you have modern hardware capabilites in addition? I mean software is just so complicated it's ridiculous, that's why the old games are so good. It's because they worked within their limits and made amazing stuff. Now they're biting off more than they can chew as a means of satisfying the mainstream market who knows nothing on the subject and it's a big mess.
  2. On top of all this, business people are making a lot of decisions regarding video games, when the video game people should be the ones in charge of the art. Do you know how good Metal Gear 5 could have been? I mean I'm not saying Konami is entirely in the wrong because money doesn't grow on trees, but they did make the game worse. They could have tried running a kickstarter or something if they really needed money. I mean what they did was a crime against gaming, and that's just one example. I mean Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, Star Fox Adentures (XD that ending is so bad,) FF15 (I cannot stop shaking my head there) OG God of War, Metroid Prime, and these are mostly great games. You know how many games are just so bad because the business people just want their money?
  3. I can't even blame them, because again, these games are so complicated. This is not the main point, but it is worth noting that these games are like holy crap big, and they're written in a language that has not been evolved since the 90's. I mean they've straight up given up making their own engines because it's unfeasable now. What we are witnessing is the buildup of errors that have been in place for a very long time, and we're finally realizing it and trying to get by with what we have because what else can we do? I mean at my job, it's been terrible for the past 10 years, but only this year is it to a point where everyone is noticing. And I've known all along so it's like oh really? But we have no choice because, and this is the point of the paragraph, these are businesses. They need their money to operate, they can't afford to have things fail. And because of this, they don't take any risks, so everything is just going to stay stale forever. Even if we were to fix everything else, this appeasement of the mainstream is the only lucrative option for companies that need billions of dollars to operate.
  4. Yeah, the owners are greedy, but we have more luck fixing video games than we do fixing the human race, we're not even close there. I mean you know how messed up a lot of Africa is? It's like a massive hole in modern civilization because their governments are just so corrupt it's ridiculous. If you think America is bad, try some of these other places and you'll see very quickly that in comparison, it's not nearly as bad as it could be.
  5. Anyway, this is part of why I love the NES, they didn't know what they were doing so there's a ton of great ideas that were all duking it out and it was awesome. But even by the time the Super Nintendo came around they knew which ideas were the most successful, expanded on them, and this accounts for every beloved series today. I mean we're not getting another Clu Clu Land, sorry. And with how big games are now, this process of weeding out the weaker ideas has gone on and on and on, until now it's pretty much Mario, Zelda, Kirby, and Pokemon, and that's it. Mother? No. F-Zero? No. Star Fox? No. Paper Mario? Kinda, but no. (Which is baffling, I mean huh? Unless Origami King is good, I could try playing it but like it's not at all near the OG 3 which were too easy but fun.) I mean there's multiplayer stuff like Mario Kart and Smash Brothers, but notice how Mario is in both? That's because Mario sells. And why? Because Super Mario Bros blew people's minds when it came out. It's simple fun that's never ended, and this is why he's probably known as the greatest character to ever grace video games. Are his games the best? No, but they are the most loved, that's for sure. It's to the point where Melee and Mario 64 are 2 of the "greatest games of all time," to the point where you can make a living if you are good enough at these 2 games in a list that is very finite.
  6. In general, people are closed minded. They like what they like and that's it. What about new stuff? Nah, picky eaters all around. And people are super lazy, myself included, so either you work really hard and don't have new ideas, or you have cool ideas that you refuse to act on. I fall in the latter category, people who have amazing ideas and have the capacity to work on them are super rare. And I mean we're all screwed because everything costs money which forces us to do jobs we hate for a living so we can keep living at all. I mean the upper class are just pooping on our graves and it's really sad but we try. And we're pretty dumb in relation to how smart we could be. Yeah we're amazing in comparison to Dolphins who are second place but, I mean it's just so sad like we could all be super geniuses and be amazing but no. And I'm not saying I'm a super genius, because I really, really am not. But at least I know how dumb I am, unlike many people. I know this is sort of an extension to 4, but this is a huge point and isn't really so much about the wickedness of some as it is the lack of knowledge of all, again including me. I try really hard to be open minded, I want to learn everything there is in the world, that's my goal. But even I am so flawed it's insane. Idk man, my life sucks so much. I have a ton to be grateful for, but jeez. The standard for where we could be is so impossibly high, idk man I'll keep doing my best.
Anyway, this is where I end my rant for now. 3, 4, and 5 were written as one stream of consciousness and I broke it up to kinda reflect different ideas. Idk, take it as you will.
