#45: Crack The Whip

Though this episode is on this list primarily for one particular fight scene, there's a lot going on besides that that really solidifies its high spot on this list. First off, it's a Connverse episode, and a damn good one! Not only do they get some training time in, showing just how far Connie has come along, but they get to have a fun day at the beach with Amethyst, and I love seeing Amethyst's interactions with both Steven and Connie, as she's really in her element helping them out but also having fun. Of course, then Jasper shows up, and what follows is one of my favorite fights in the entire series... before this, fans had been hyping up how good of a fighter Stevonnie might be with both Steven's shield and Rose's sword, and they did NOT disappoint, beating down Jasper and saving Amethyst at the same time! Stevonnie was incredible, with Steven and Connie's skills perfectly complimenting each other, and when I first saw this, I really thought it would be the start of something awesome, with Stevonnie kicking ass the rest of the series. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be: this was pretty much the pinnacle of Stevonnie's fighting for the entire rest of the series, which I feel was somewhat a waste of their potential... but even so, the one truly awesome fight we got with Stevonnie was still fantastic, and it also continued Amethyst's character development arc which would ultimately culminate in a battle with Jasper later on when she'd get another chance to prove herself. I loved every aspect of Crack The Whip, it's one of my favorite Steven Universe episodes and might rank even higher if not for the wasted potential of Stevonnie's fighting skills.
