Show: The Loud House
Original airdate: July 21, 2016

"I don't care about them anymore. Go be yourself."

The Loud House really is at its best when the siblings are being kind to one another, and the adorable season 1 episode Toads and Tiaras was a perfect example of how good this show can be when it wears its heart on its sleeve. The premise is that Lola, the resident pageant princess of the family, is rehearsing for a pageant with Dairyland tickets at stake, but is injured and forced to pull out of the competition. Determined to go to Dairyland, Lincoln recruits Lola's identical twin Lana, but he'll need to change his sister's tomboyish ways if she's to have any hope of winning. Surprisingly enough, Lana ends up doing quite well, and has the potential to win, but she can't keep herself from making armpit farts and letting her pet frog Hops out on stage. Lincoln takes Lana backstage for a peptalk, where she promises to do better, but Lincoln, realizing he needs to let his sister be herself, tells her to go out there and do just that, even if, as Lana reminds him (in a line expertly delivered by Grey Delisle), they'll have to kiss those Dairyland tickets goodbye. Lincoln doesn't care, and Lana is able to just go out there and have fun. Surprisingly, she wins anyway, and even though Lola shows up at the end to beat up the two for impersonating her, she backs off when she learns they managed to win. While I know this episode wouldn't make anyone else's list (it doesn't even rank in the top of Loud House episodes in fan polls), it really hit a soft spot for me, showing the strength of Lincoln's relationship with his little sister, and Lana's ability to buckle down and get things done even it's something not in her wheelhouse.
