| skulltrumpets 12/05/22 6:30:05 PM #30: | overdose blue desert hotel cuckoo it is very likely that overdose is my favourite song on the br set. strings are very bright and energetic and the electronic backing - those wubs! - keep it from being stale. i love how hopeful this song is! october mermaid is, of course, good. it really is a no brainer. it takes a few moments to pick up, but once the main melody does, it is so fantastic. an incredibly dreamy piece, very "sleep music" for me, in the most affectionate way possible. extremely close between the two. scions is so delightfully chaotic and terrifying. a very twisted song. it isn't really quite my thing, but i have always enjoyed and respected what it sets itself out to do. blue desert hotel, however, is like perfectly MY THING. very breezy and playful. that oboe is so fucking GOOD. this track is pure magic, and i love every second of it. the vocals in cuckoo are definitely more my speed than scions' usage. the war cries and chants combined with the rhythm are just so damn cool. it is a very powerfully rhythmic piece for sure. the el shaddai song i feel similarly about, but i don't like quite as much. ...
