Sure, but then how do movies make money? Putting new movies on streaming services brings in way less revenue then selling tickets does.

This viewpoint seems incredibly misguided, since so much more money goes into advertising for in-theater movies than needs to go into advertising streaming, and thus the idea that movies "can't" make money through streaming seems silly, especially since we have seen many do so already.

You HAVE to spend a lot more in advertising to get people to go to a theater, vs. streaming, where people can "stumble" upon your movie without having to make any sort of commitment. That, alone, makes up for a LOT of the difference in the spending that goes into a film.

EDIT: Lately, 50% or more of a film's budget goes into marketing, because you have to convince people to physically leave their home and choose to see your movie in an actual physical location. That cost drastically decreases with streaming.
