The executives at Fox thought that The Bundy children had grown up and wanted to add "a cute kid" to the series to boost the ratings.

The problem was that Married relied on a lot of sexual, adult and sadistic humour and having a kid changed the look, feel and dynamics of the programme.

The fans, writers and producers hated him and so he was dropped half way through season seven with no explination.

I am just saying that is when it dropped off. I still love the show up to that point. I love how they kind of were able to tell the same "I am poor" joke so many times. I loved all the shoe store stories, I love Al and Marcy's relationship even though I heard they hated each other off screen. That show is in my top 10. Seven just made me lose interest.
