Never played a game of its genre, but tried it out because of all the glowing reviews. I found the first couple of hours boring, but once it got going and I got the hang of interacting with the world I enjoyed it. Good game, Id give it an 8/10.

One thing I didnt like was that even though you had many paths and choices you can take in the game, the game pretty much ends in the same way, with a debriefing. The only impact of your choices was getting different lines during the debriefing.
