The first eight episodes of it are fine but have issues, mainly in the writers forgetting who are how the characters were in the original. Development over time is one thing, but... There is turning a woman on the spectrum who had grown to become people friendly into practically an eccentric superhuman with a new skill revealed every episode. The first eight episodes also beat you over the head with what happened to one character, not to spoil anything, but it gets kinda overbearing with the plots of each episode at first.

The latter eight episodes fair better, imo. The ending feels like they're trying to, wait for it, redeem themselves after the ending of season 5. Like I love the original five seasons, but the finale of the older show left me wondering if the writers were on something during the climax. Not so much here in the last two episodes of Redemption.
