They're miserable for the sake of being miserable. Wheras Reddit is fucking terrified of negativity. Any opinion that can even be slightly construed as adversarial needs a fucking codex full of key phrases to come off as non-threatening or, god forbid, seem like you're "gate keeping" "This is just my opinion but..."
