Because for one, they're incorrect. And two, they think they're the first one to drop the "knowledge bomb" on everybody in the room. The worst thing is, people up vote those comments and then use them as a launching pad for their own cynical anti-pet ranting. I absolutely hate Reddit. The entirety of upvote/downvote culture has done major damage to online discussion. All you ever see is regurgitated memes and attention grabs at the top of the conversation. Actual discussion gets buried somewhere near the bottom, and by default most people don't see anything of value in any reddit comment section. --- I write Naruto Fanfiction.
