...net. At least on the main subreddits.

It's hard to articulate exactly why, but I suppose it's like a party filled with that guys. You know the fucking guys. There you are, sipping a beer and wanting to chill out, and now you're talking to that guy. He has a lot of opinions about topics he learned about 3 minutes ago and you can be pretty sure that none of them are correct, but he's passionate about every single one of them.

Like you take a video of a cat being cute or w/e. That guy is there to tell you that actually this particular interaction is bad for the cat's emotional development or that the enclosure is too small or the lights rae too bright or a particular tail wagging is an indication of deep distress, and also did you know that cat's have no emotional attachment to humans? That guy read about that 30 seconds before posting and just wanted to say something that would get him the top comment.

You ever read a topic on reddit that you happen to know more than the layperson about? Look at how many that guys there are, very confidently wrong about all of it. And then you spot that those guys are everywhere, talking that same way about all the topics.

I can think of worse websites with worse people. But I don't know of any that are actually part of a website I enjoy using for information/media, and maybe not any website where the collective attitude is so sickeningly smug.
