I only hope after the Tennant specials they quickly air the next season of the show. Having 3 specials then waiting 10 months for the show to start will really kill off all the hype he generates.

The specials are going to be November, then Gatwa's first episode is over the Christmas period.

Assuming that they're showing the specials around the 23rd (either ending then or starting then), we're looking at four-to-five weeks between the Tennant episodes and Gatwa's first.

RTD always had his seasons start around Easter time, so hopefully he does the same again, so there's no huge gap between Gatwa's debut and his first full season.

I would say that we'll have more of an idea when we see if the Christmas/NY episode is a part of the full season's production block, but then Power was filmed over a year ago, so that probably wouldn't be helpful, haha. But I do think that it would be a bit mental for RTD to be hired in Sept 21 for his first full season to not for potentially 3 years. If nothing else, the Beeb would probably begrudge paying him for so long with no end product.

If we do have to wait until Autumn 24 for the full season, though, I'd be okay with it, on the proviso that we then have a set schedule each year again.
