| pyresword 10/04/22 5:10:00 PM #20: | There is a real cheating scandal in chess but I don't think anybody seriously has any reason to believe that it involves vibrating anal beads. It was a crazy idea mentioned by a streamer mainly for comedy that the wider media somehow got wind of. It is known (by his own admission) that the player cheated online before, and today chess.com released a report saying it occurred more frequently than the player had admitted to. I don't think there's been anything definitive as far as cheating at in-person tournaments goes though there are obviously suspicions because of his online cheating history and his rapid (but not unprecedented) rise in ranking. It is worth mentioning the online cheating occurred in online tournaments with prize money so it is still a meaningful problem. --- I didn't do guru this year but azuarc can be in my sig anyways. ...
