Granted, it was IMMEDIATELY after they agreed to disagree that Pepper to kiss him and made things awkward (largely because Freddy has never been kissed), but stilleven that scene was cute, and now that Peppers with Half-Life, I feel like she and Freddy are more able to just work together as colleagues, without any sort of sexual tension there. I think I still need to apologize to him for thatbut theres just so many conversations I need to have already. Im pretty sure were cool though, since weve gone on missions to get Freddys super strength (and walking ability!) from Nanaue, and then plant manipulation from Vyndktvx, and there hasnt been any awkwardness there! Hell, she still goes to the library to study with him on occasion, which is a nice bonding experience for two of the more studious members of Zonn Zorr to do together.

Thats all Freddy from my perspective, but he does have more going on for him than that. I already mentioned Brennus crush on him, which led to an interesting and unspoken rivalry for a time between Brennus and Pepper, and I think its kind of cute that Brennus has that one character he can really focus his affections on. But heres the funny thing. Weve talked about how Jaime has been the central figure of this weird love pentagon with Pepper, Traci, Brenda and Mistyand at least up until recently, Jaime has behaved like a teenaged boy who does EVENTUALLY want to have sex with SOMEONE. Yet despite having ZERO real inclination towards romance, Freddy has Jaime beat by a country mile.

Pepper has asked Freddy to kiss her (and if hed said yes, she ABSOLUTELY wouldve asked him out to Oblivion to Captain Marvel up and put his invulnerability to good use). Brennus has a blatant crush on him. Despite initially thinking hes an asshole for blowing up during the Superman Appreciation Day darts game, Traci has since set her sights on Freddy as a safe choice to punch her V-card (for similar reasons to Pepper). Having spoken to Pepper and Traci on the subject, SAOIRSE has mentioned that she wouldnt mind hooking up with the boyo. During our trip to the Aquacave, Minerva tapped into a fish that forced her to admit to a secret crush on someone, and that someone turned out to be Freddy. Theres the lingering question of whether Freddy and Mary Marvel are a thing, or just a brother/sister kind of bond. And then you have my personal favorite: Freddy x Alice.

This is the only one of Freddys MANY potential romances (well, aside from Mary) that has yet to have any explicit statement of its existence. Of course, no explicit statement is like, the baseline for anyone who ships ANY two fictional characters together, and I absolutely ship Freddy and Alice. Its the classic case of opposites attract, but beyond that, in recent months, theyve become much closer as a duo. Alice has tapped into Freddys magic a couple times now, and weve seen her drag him to Oblivion, and him recently calling her to help comfort Brennus. During the mission to get Vyndktvx, Freddy and Alice went full Captain Marvel together to help fight off the Spectre, and while Im sure there was standard concern for a teammate, Freddy wanting to protect Alice when she was struggling was pretty cute. I just think theyd be nice together, thats all. I want Freddy to be happy, and I want Alice to be happy, and I think they could make each whole in a really perfect way.

But anyway, theres still so much to do with Freddys storyline, and hes not even halfway done obtaining all of his powers yet. He has to get eight more, and hes working his ass off to do so, studying into the wee hours of the night. I fully intend to accompany him every time, so Im eager to see where the story goes, and he badly hes gonna kick Sabines ass.

Hint for #2: A female character who uses the initials B.A.; whos been spurned romantically by a male character in the campaign; has physically harmed a PC she considers to have done her wrong; has transformed into at least two different forms from her baseline over the course of the campaign; wound up in the med bay for a SEVERE injury after her arrogance led to her biting off more than she could chew during a demonstration of her powers; and Pepper is still her friend despite multiple occasions of utterly terrifying behavior.
