I thought the ending was pretty good -- any time a story builds up to a big reveal of something impressive at the end there's a chance the reveal will be disappointing, and in a video game you can't just not show it. Toem went simple and I think it worked out better that way. It's free on PS+ right now so the price is definitely right.
