Not sure about other platforms, but on PS4 there is an official Share Play function, with zero risks. As for account sharing, both people can play the same game at the same time. I know this because I bought Elden Ring on my account, and my brother plays it at the same time on his account. We've co-oped several games that only one of us owns.

The always online bit may be true. I haven't tested it as both of our consoles are online under normal conditions. But the rest of the stuff you mention is not true.
