I got paddled twice as a kid. All it did was make me have impure thoughts about the principal. She was older, but she grew on me.

Fun fact, same lady moved with me from a school in Pineville due to a corrupt staff. Friends with my parents and every thing. She was a famous prosecutor in her youth. Her family was rich as balls. Their house was a mansion with those giant portrait oil paintings like you see in movies.

Anyway, it wasn't her choice to paddle me. They were required to phone parents for permission back then. She liked me since we went to dinner a lot as families. Just goes to show you how power in numbers with a corrupt teacher staff can overrule a principal who is way smarter.

The lunch staff and lots of minor staff would come in and report to her in secret about the teachers talking shit and planning shit when I was in her office doing work for the last part of 1st grade. It was quite the scandal. Not sure if it was in the news paper, but it would've been around 1986 in Pineville, NC.
