Sportsculture is weird yes.

My uncle used to say it was to control the masses while the government was left unimpeded. I would explain how lots of fans really get into it and know lots of stuff about it. He just piped back about how that's normal for anything we engage in all the time.

Same dude would yell and scream at the tv over Nascar. He was funny at times too though. We used to have this asshole in the meat department at Ingles (grocery store) and he confronted the dude politely and let it turn sour before chewing him out so the whole store could hear. It was fucking hilarious. You had to have been there. He had no chill and no fear.
