People love navigating a little guy, through a cute intricate little 3d place, while looking at it from many angles. It's why people love giant lego displays, model train environments...and the Ball Puzzles in Resident Evil VIIage!!

I didn't like these stages in Mario 3D world, but once I saw footage of how much more intricate, and clever, the stages were in Captain Toad, I was back on board.

I really think this game should be an entire new genre of 3d platformers. In typical 3d Mario, either the camera is kind of a nuisance, or it is fixed, limiting your vision. But here, the camera is most of the fun! There is interesting stuff and secrets to discover, as you rotate the level around! Secrets are secretly the best thing about video games.

Excitingly, because you cannot jump or attack, EVERY enemy must be taken seriously; you have to have a plan, a backup plan, and a 2nd backup plan. It has a very Pac-man feel to it: strategic avoidance of enemies, until you find the powerup to chase them down! It's a strategic platformer, we'll say.

BEST LEVEL: Augh they're all so freaking good. I will go with the level that is on a train, because I will always choose the level that is on a train, in any game. It's probably not actually the best level here though.
