#44 Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/0/5/6/AABIPnAADlBI.jpg

Link to the Past is widely considered one of the best of all time, and I would almost agree, except I like A Link Between Worlds much more, in every way!

The "merging to walls" mechanic for puzzles and exploration, is excellent, it's a great way to make level design interact with puzzle design.

The combat is better, thanks to all the weapons being fun to use, and thanks to them using a auto-refilling stamina meter, so you don't hanker to "save arrows" or "save magic points". This makes the upgrades more fun too!!

Importantly, the secrets/upgrades system is much fairer, thanks to the little maiamai sound effect. The secrets in LTTP always felt a little *too* obscure for me. I suppose in general, developers have come a long way in designing secrets that are surprising but fair.

And I legit love the story here, especially the ending; whereas I didn't care or understand ANY of the story in LTTP.

BEST LEVEL: I really enjoyed the late game "Ice Ruins" dungeon. The scary top-down platforming, while floating above a gigantic void, really tickled my fear of heights.
