Premise: After the Earth experienced a massive disaster, most people moved to an orbiting space station. When a hacker infiltrates its systems, the authorities send Angela Balzac to stop them.

The Good: Expelled from Paradise has decent CGI and some neat mecha battles. I also liked a few of the sci-fi elements in the setting and the story. The idea of people uploading themselves into a digital world in orbit is great and allows for the exploration of a lot of neat themes. Angela was an okay character too, receiving at least some amount of development in the short runtime.

The Bad: Theres a reason why Ive seen so few anime movies compared to season-long shows. I dont know why, I dont have this problem with movies in general, but anime movies always feel rushed. Maybe it's because they're usually only ninety minutes at most. There are good ideas in Expelled from Paradise, just not enough time is dedicated to exploring them. Most of the characters also desperately needed more time to develop.

Overall: Expelled from Paradise isnt a bad movie, but very little about it is memorable enough to make it worth a watch. I liked the ideas it explored, Angela was a decent character, and there were some fun mecha battles. Overall, though, the story felt rushed and the characters didnt get enough time to develop.
