Rushdie's fantasy works like Haroun and its sequel are his best works. He's a much much better writer when he puts his imagination into overdrive and doesn't hold back. I know magical realism that spans between India and the west is his bread and butter but I don't think those works show his full creative potential.

Really hoping he pulls through. He still has much to offer the world and it would suck ass if his next novel coming out next year turned out to be his last.
