Any recommendations? Some friends recommended going to an office furniture depot to try out some chairs

If you want to spend up, and I mean really spend up. You can get a chair like this:

Ergohuman (had to break up url):
https://www.amazon.com/Ergohuman-Swivel-Chair-Headrest-Chrome
/dp/B002LK1YNO
/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1ZW7K8HFY31U4&keywords=ergohuman&qid=1657819173&
sprefix=ergohuman%2Caps%2C58&sr=8-2

I managed to find one closer to the 500 range, I don't know why they're so expensive now. But I've had the chair for 3 years and haven't had back problems since. It isn't the kind of chair you sit in and go "ahhh" but you don't have an pain from sitting in it for a long time.

I work remote a lot though, so its worth it for me. But at the very least I'll back up what Yellow said in that getting a chair with back support is super important, and add that office chairs are better.

Going to an office furniture depot to try stuff out is probably ok, but a chair you sit in for a long time won't necessarily feel good in a "sit test". Like how you might like a little bit of cake, but if you eat an entire one you'll feel sick afterwards.
