Good thought process, but Trump's voters liked his lack of tact. Trump makes a lot of personal attacks that aren't nessecary. But his fanbase always went with "he tells it like it is!"

That said, if DeSantis lacks Charisma, it'll be hard to keep focus on him if Trump runs again. The Republican party is rapidly turning into a bunch of cartoon characters instead of actual people.

I've been saying for awhile that Trump has a patented brand of silver spoon-fed unchecked ego - which I will grudgingly call 'charisma' - that DeathSantis simply can't hope to match. Trump's the epitome of 'I don't understand what you're saying but I love the way you say it,' and people idolize him because they want to be him. I don't think it's possible for DeathSantis to have that kind of pull once he genuinely steps onto the national stage and stops just being 'that guy in Florida sticking it to the libs' - without Trump's 'charisma,' DeathSantis' bargain-bin brand of whiny smugness will (I pray) repel moderates rather than attract them.
