One of the things that people don't seem to understand about DeSantis is that the combination of Trump's ridiculously confrontational demeanor with zero charisma results in a supremely off-putting candidate (even as compared to Trump).

The way he yelled at high school students for wearing masks, for example. Totally unnecessary, zero tact, came across as a playground bully with a complex.

Good thought process, but Trump's voters liked his lack of tact. Trump makes a lot of personal attacks that aren't nessecary. But his fanbase always went with "he tells it like it is!"

That said, if DeSantis lacks Charisma, it'll be hard to keep focus on him if Trump runs again. The Republican party is rapidly turning into a bunch of cartoon characters instead of actual people.
