Usually their abuse victims were women. So I can't say I'm especially surprised that a guy who did that stuff would intensify to killing multiple law enforcement officers in order to avoid getting in trouble. The most likely scenario for cops to get murdered is when responding to DV calls. It literally dwarfs everything else.
