RUMOR: HBO to reboot Sopranos with all-female cast

Which would not make much sense. It's fiction, but that stretch would take far too many viewers out of the live action show due to the lack of believability.

Most if not all real life mafia heads are men and the majority of the dirty work is performed by men. Is it possible for a woman to achieve any of that? Sure. Is it likely? Nope. And there's logical reasons and I'm afraid biology is one contributor. Being a woman dramatically outnumbered by hardened trigger happy, ruthless, calculating criminal men is not going to play out well for her no matter her status.

There's a few female Triads, but most are male -- most other organised crime won't let any women become bosses, at all.
The Mafia itself especially has very rigid gender structures.
