Like I get it, he's too far gone, he's lost all humanity for the sake of the mission, but him not telling Hughie about the temp V felt like a wasted opportunity. Should have told Hughie and Hughie should have disregarded it. They are trying to artifically bring this Butcher back in line with the comic version, which they completely derailed at one point with the Becca shit and homelander jr. being like a step son to him.
