The tests were great, but they decided to stop it. During the cold war, the west planned to develop a nuclear mine that they would dig down if Soviet started to move west. The problem was that the components would freeze and stop working during winter. The Solution: Build in a chicken with food for a week, and its bodyheat would keep the components warm enough to work.
