you quickly snag the key from the construct's neck. it shakes violently at your touch, but makes no sound and can't move thanks to the strings holding it in place. you back away from it as it stares daggers at you with its manic eyes, shaking and tugging at its restraints. turning around, you rush down a hallway as the light grows dimmer and dimmer. feeling your way forward through the dark, you come to a locked door. you fumble with the key until you manage to get it into the lock, turning it with a hefty clunk of the tumbler. as fast as you can twist the doorknob, you hear something drop from the other room. practically tearing the door open, you move to rush through, only to press against solid concrete. you feel and claw around for anything- a latch, a hole, a button, but there's nothing. the sound of heavy shuffling grows louder from down the hallway. lumbering becomes a jog, jogging becomes a dash, and dashing becomes full-on barrelling through as you see two beady red eyes close in on you through the darkness.
