I know youve explained it before but i dont remember Everyone has always been able to change usernames, if you meet certain criteria. You just have to track down the name change feedback form. And all the stuff you didn't read sort of sums up why some people have multiple usernames - because older accounts can have different message board names and account names (and you can even have different names set for stuff like contributions - I actually have all my contributions on this account linked to a different account). They're collapsing everything down into a single username.
