To be clear, capitalism is the issue and it generally isn't beholden to the government except in the form of taxes. Chicken in particular is having supply chain issues this year because chicken farms got absolutely bodied by bird flu, killing tens of thousands of birds that should otherwise be going into restaurants and grocery stores --- If it was about babies we'd have universal maternal care.
