For the past week or so, when I walk in my front door, I've picked up some funky smell. The garage is connected to the downstairs living room/finished basement, so I thought maybe my garbage cans just needed a good washing. (I keep them in the garage so the raccoons don't throw trash everywhere).

Washed the cans out and the next day I walk in the house, still smell it. I start lifting ceiling tiles, thinking maybe something got in and died. Nada

Then last night night I went into the garage to pull some lamb chops out of my chest freezer.

The smell. Just....like the gates of hell.

I cleaned my garage on May 22nd and must have moved the freezer just enough to unplug it without noticing. 80 pounds of rotting lamb, beef, chicken, seafood and veggies. Sitting in this extreme heat for almost four weeks.

I slammed it shut as quick as possible and plugged it back in, hoping that once it refreezes the smell won't be as bad so I can throw it all out without puking out my skeleton.

The smell though. I can't get it out of my head. I haven't been able to eat since I opened it.

Fuck.

I guess I'm something of a ne'er do well.
