Gearbox themselves have confirmed that the guys behind Cobra Kai are making a Duke Nukem movie. I've never seen CK, but I've heard good things about it. Hopefully they'll allow Duke to be Duke, and they won't wussify him for the offended-by-everything vocal minority on Twitter. He's a macho, trash-talking, ass-kicking, hedonistic, politically incorrect caricature of 80s action movie stars. Someone like this would have been cancelled hundreds of times over today. But if they focus on just making the movie as good as possible, Duke will just be like "What's that? I can't hear you from the top of this giant pile of money!"

Duke might be a joke today, but that's because of incompetent directors making his last game flop and writing him wrong. He was a powerhouse in the 90s, and he can still be one today. After all, Doom 2016 was massively successful, and the main character never spoke a word.
