Can't see how having such conviction is 'fucking up' someone's life. Kyle went down there to protect was he believed to be important to himself, family, and friends; relatively simple concept. Might not be important to you, since you're fine with burning down towns and the homes and livelihoods of other people, but that would just make you a hypocritical coward lacking in a similar weight of convictions on par to his. The old adage of "don't dish out what you can't take".
