My daughter heard some meowing last night, but we didnt think anything of it. Then in the middle of the night our dog needed to go out, and I could still hear it, so I tried to look - but seeing as it was 4AM I didnt put much effort in.

Cut to this morning, as we go to load up my wifes car with stock for her RenFest booth (well be open next weekend so have to get ready). And the meowing is still going on. So this time I go all-out. Check the tall grass between our house and our neighbors, nothing. Open the trunk, nope. Under the seats? Nada.

And then I realize what I have to do. I call my son out and have him crawl under the car with a flashlight - bingo. Kitten. In the engine block. Pop the hood to get a better view and then jack the car up to give our son more room to work, and there s/he is. Tiny kitten.

We already have five cats, so were not planning on keeping this one. But we are going to keep it around until its a few weeks older - we estimate age at four weeks. Got some kitten milk and wet food and the kitty is settling in very nicely as my wifes new nap partner/parrot.
