The Supreme Court of Canada just made it okay to use extreme intoxication as a defense in trials of violent crimes such as murder and sexual assault. Not really a great precedent since that can apply to so many other things; and has.

Talk about purposefully misreading and/or misunderstanding of the intent and the outcome of that trial. They said no less than 4 times with the opinion that you cant just be intoxicated, even extremely so. And that theyre putting the burden on lawmakers to correct how it was worded because the old law effectively made a person have to defend against something they werent charged with.
