I watched the first episode when it aired and I've been meaning to get back to it. I don't usually like overly dark stuff, both Magical Girl Site and Raising Project were too much for me, but Spec Ops seemed so insanely dark that it became goofy in a way that I liked. I remember laughing really hard whenI did. It remains over the top, though if you think the edge is funny because of the stuffed animal aesthetic, the main villains are human.
