This makes me think of a video I recently saw (on TikTok, so take it with a grain of salt) of a man telling a story of how his son got expelled from school for "poisoning" a fellow student.

Story went... His 5th grade son was getting bullied and having his lunch stolen by the same kid every day, and after repeated complaints to the school went ignored, they sent him into school with one of his snacks "laced" with a laxative.

As expected, the bully took his lunch that day, ate the cake with the laxative in it, and the laxative did what laxatives do.

Now, the kid didn't offer the food to the bully, the bully took it. But the child was punished, not the bully. The bully literally stole something from the kid, but the kid got punished.
