Dragons Den was based off of an American show called Shark Tank that was basically the same thing. Though IIRC this was on a similar show called American Inventor.

And for a bit of a happy ending here, Bulletball has actually found some success as a fun (and easy to learn) accessible game for people with disabilities, and was even a game at the "Senior Olympics"

Correction:
Dragon's Den (2005) predates Shark Tank (2009) by 4 years, and America inventor (2006) by a year.

Dragon's Den is based on Money Tigers which originally aired in 2001, in Japan.
