Also it's not really a tabletop game when you need a uniquely-designed table to play it.

It's called American Inventor. Basically Shark Tank, if the judges like your product they'll offer money for you to refine it and bring it to the market.

I remember hearing about this poor sap. He never found any success after this stunt, and the only footage out there of people playing it is a small room of senile folk who had nothing better to do, and the creator himself donated the tables therfore making no money. People will say he "made it", but you can't actually buy one of these tables if you tried looking online.

I guess the morale of the story here is always have a plan B.
