Jons own racism is also in the past too.

Jon's is more recent, and like just last year he went on some sort of anti-mask/vaccine tirade that his girlfriend had to damage control and say it was a giant joke. Nevermind that whole thing about him joining the "stolen election" argument.

But yes, if someone did something bad years ago, never did it again, and even started displaying opposite behavior, then whatever is in the past shouldn't condemn the person in the present. That's what I'm getting at.

The things Arin has said in the past before don't matter because now (for a few years) he's been preaching acceptance of every race, color, and gender.

The things Jon said in the past sorta still matter because he hasn't really displayed any noteworthy behavior changes, even if he hasn't said those exact things again.
