I'm conflicted on this one because Elon is a dick, but his motives for running Twitter are probably good overall.

Social media platforms have become pervasive enough in recent years that they really do need to have free speech as their foundation. "It's a private company and they do what they want" doesn't really fly as an argument when 2-3 companies have a stranglehold on public discourse on the Internet.

The Venn diagram of people who complain about free speech on the internet and people who have no idea what free speech is is a single circle, I swear.
