Okay, I ordered a new motherboard + RAM to go with this CPU that's just been sitting here. Should be here in a week. I'd think my GPU is what's dead, but this motherboard is 6.5 y/o so it's time anyway. Plus it'll have integrated graphics that can run most of what I'm going to want it to in the short term.

With that out of the way, I am gonna take a crack at playing. Keep in mind my graphics settings suck. So... yeah.

I left off in Taliesin and, uh... this is NOT the place where this crappy graphics driver wants to be. I have to reduce multiple settings so my PC doesn't crash once Eleanor starts using Spiral Hail in every damn battle. And I mean EVERY. What a boss.

But yeah, in the end, this looks circa Vesperia at best. It's still perfectly fine. I can make out what's going on. It's just that my resolution is low, my framerate is halved, and other graphical settings are lower than I want them to be. That is the problem with not having a graphics card that works.

I find the Toitolez outside the temple. He's got a letter from Eizen's sister (which Eizen is too distraught to read, so he has Laphicet do it), who doesn't seem to care that he's a pirate, in part because he helped her master malak artes through his advice. Magilou makes a snarky comment about her being as "roundabout and stubborn as her brother" but Laphicet mentions that she got the nor dolls and, while she doesn't love them, she's been, uh, hearing voices. If that isn't a Phoenix for the flame. And then we finally get her name: Edna. A name Eizen gave her. This is the last we'll be hearing of her for a thousand years, however. I presume this was put in so any 4 y/o brains playing this game could draw the connection to Zestiria. The problem is that this game is rated T for teen, so the only 4 y/o brains that would be playing it would be, uh.... you know...

The Toitolez won't let me shop so I go back to town. He's still there when I get back. Go figure. I am HOPING that this junk heap runs this massive behemoth of a Ziggurat but don't blame me if it doesn't. It's slow, but... okay, I guess. The new enemies are weak - likely because of the sheer amount of sidequesting there was. Not my game design choice.

I encounter two freed malakhim on the rafters. They thank us for awakening the elementals and restoring their free will, and continue to insist after Velvet says she was acting in her own interests. They say many of their kind are too scared of malevolence to go near humans, and that before Innominat began brainwashing them, they were a peaceful people. This does not change that Velvet and Eizen say "If you get in our way to save your friends, we'll have to kill you. We can't go easy on anyone." Logical, so they won't intervene and will instead work toward the future they believe in. This is such a weird conversation, honestly. There's hostility... over something that I didn't quite pick up was implied... and then they give us information about the armatus technology and divine artifacts? They have one - a bow that I presume resurfaces in Zestiria - that they'll use to help the knowledge of these fiends' misdeeds as well as the technology. Their goal is mutual consent for armitization, which... I think is the basis for the Zestiria battle system? I THINK? The divine artifact for Innominat is complete, so Artorious will armatize with him... and we can kill both fuckers in one go!

At any rate, I stop for right now to avoid putting too much strain on my CPU. Don't want to overclock it and go without for a week, now do I?
