Then you mustn't have engaged much with music, pubs/bars/clubs or whatever around that time. Because this isn't my sort of thing at all but I've heard it what feels like a million times.

That said, I'd have gone for Mr Brightside as the most famous song of that decade but it's really hard to pick just one and Usher is definitely up there.
