Everybody knows that. The thing is people don't actually want to fix any of the homelessness/environmental/etc problems they cite as reasons to not build new stuff. They just use all that as an excuse to prevent new building simply because they don't want it. Cities are doing exactly what their residents want, even though what they want is stupid.
Yep, and I think it probably all goes back to most of people's wealth being in their homes. Of course they don't want housing prices to drop. It's selfish but it makes sense.
