Oh okay the way it was explained to me was confusing, but I get what's going on. So Pokemon have set spawn locations, and depending on time of day, the pokemon in a spawn location can be different. It appears shininess is tied to the location and not the Pokemon. So if say you find a nigh time only pokemon, like a drifloon shiny, you can go a ways away, and wait until day time, and drifloons will despawn, come back, and a different pokemon might spawn in that same location, like a Starly, and it will also be shiny.
