I also tried resetting for a shiny Shinx in an outbreak before that, but I'm not sure I was doing it right for most of it. I saved in Jubilife, cleared them out, quit. Then I rebooted and forgot about auto-save because I started out at the camp, so I disabled that and went back to Jubilife, saved, and then repeatedly cleared them out and reset. I just couldn't tell if I was doing it right or if I was just encountering the exact same batch of Shinxes over and over.

After a while, I decided to clear most but not all and go back to Jubilife and back, and the outbreak was refreshed and that time actually spawned an Alpha (caught it). So I did the same of clearing out most and going back again, but then suddenly the outbreak shifted to some Parasects. Oh well.
